A Gabriola Island Morning Light

16” x 20” oil on exhibition slim canvas

Photo was taken on an October morning on Gabriola Island on British Columbia’s west coast.

Shuzenji

"20"x 24" oil on canvas

Inspired while staying at a Ryokan (traditional Japanese hot springs hotel) in the town of Shuzenji. There are a few bridges in this town, but thi one is by far the most spectacular! I love the orange colour of the bridges with the wonderful peace and tranquility of the trees and river.  The town itself is also gorgeous!

Lois

16"x 24" oil on canvas

Painting of a picture taken some 80 years ago. Commissioned piece.

The Regiven Rose

16” x 24” oil on panel

A beautiful painting of a delicate rose that had once been given to a cherished lover. This particular rose, after being lovingly preserved, had become dried and was returned to the person who originally gifted it. In a heartfelt gesture, the dried rose was then meticulously painted and finally presented back to the beloved, symbolizing the enduring nature of their feelings.

Gaijin Fuji

11” x 14" oil on canvas

Inspired by my drive to Gotemba, Japan, for shopping, I captured my favorite moment of Mt. Fuji among many. I loved how simple the house looked in front of the majestic mountain. A Japanese friend mentioned that Mt. Fuji has been painted many times before and was curious about a foreigner's view. Here it is — Gaijin Mt. Fuji!

Zeke

16” x 24” oil on canvas

Another commissioned piece. This one happens to be a portrait of my adorable grandson. I often find myself pondering what thoughts might be swirling in his mind at only 6 months of age. It's a fascinating age, filled with wonder and curiosity about the world around him.

Sigrid

11" x 14" oil on canvas

A dear friend's grandmother, who resides in Sweden, is spending her time lovingly baking fresh bread in her cozy kitchen. The delightful aroma fills the air, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that embodies the essence of home-cooked meals.

Ivy and the Bow

11” x 14” oil on canvas

Isn’t she the sweetest!? She’s rocking the bow!

Commissioned piece.

Les Parapluies d’Avignon

20” x 24” oil on canvas

This particular artwork was a commissioned piece created for a truly special lady! It beautifully captures her favorite photograph, which she took during her memorable journeys through the enchanting landscapes of Europe.

Ben

11” x 14” oil on exhibition canvas

Ben is currently 15 and a half years old as of this date. He remains as rambunctious as ever and still absolutely enjoys chasing after his beloved toys! In addition to his playful antics, he also seems to have a strong affinity for sleeping quite a bit! I suppose he has certainly earned that privilege after all these wonderful years he has brought joy to our lives.
